2025 e'Stellar Syrah

Deep ruby with a purple edge. Aromatically lifted, with red fruits at the fore, raspberry and wild berry layered with black tea, cured meat and cracked pepper.

The palate is fresh and driven, with a steely, graphite-like tension that carries through the finish, framed by ultra-fine tannins. Medium-bodied and precise, this Syrah shows Pinot Noir-like qualities, with detail, perfume and finesse.

WINEMAKING

The fruit for this Syrah was sourced from our new A2 block, a site we’re particularly excited about. Planted to two Shiraz clones whose lineage traces back to the historic vineyards of Tahbilk Winery and Best's Wines, these vines are rooted in cracked mudstone with minimal soil, yielding naturally low vigour and concentrated fruit.

The fruit was destemmed and fermented in stainless steel, with daily pump-overs over a three-week period to gently extract colour, flavour and tannin. Following pressing, the wine was matured for 10 months in French oak barrels, 25% of which were new, before being bottled without filtration.
