2025 e'Stellar Chardonnay
2025 e'Stellar Chardonnay
“A swirl of citrus, nuts and flint, pulled into line.”
Pale gold in the glass, this Chardonnay opens with aromas of juicy nectarine, grilled nuts and marmalade on toast, layered with a subtle struck match note. The palate is tight and focused, with flavours of green apple and stone fruit framed by a fine line of acidity that drives length and precision. A light touch of French oak supports the structure, leading to a long, savoury and composed finish, making this a serious, age-worthy expression of Yarra Valley Chardonnay.
WINEMAKING
WINEMAKING
The fruit for our Chardonnay was hand picked from the lower section of our North facing D1 block, planted to old-vine P58 clone Chardonnay. After pressing, the cloudy juice was wild fermented in barrel before maturing on lees in French oak (30% new) for 10 months. Zero malolactic fermentation has kept this wine tight and bright.

"This once again captures the loft white florals of a Spring afternoon, Freesia and Cala lily. Wet stone and grapefruit with pineapple and plum too. This has the dancing chorus line of Yarra Valleys brisk acidity combined with some creamy French oak support. Agile and energetic. A very good example of why we cannot get enough of Yarra Chardonnay. Drink with fried prawn toast. Drink now or cellar for another 4-5 years."

"This wine leaps from the glass. In fact as soon as the wine started tumbling into my glass the aroma rushed up at me in a way that I rarely come across; this wine is eager to say hello. It tastes of pears, mostly, sunny and ripe, with crisp green apple and nectarine characters shooting attractively throughout. There’s a flash of cedarwood-and-hay oak flavour here, just enough to give the wine an extra spruce, though it remains inherently fruit-driven and, indeed, refreshing."
